Our Story:

The idea for a company like SaluNexus was born in the early 2010s when the founder, Justin Cooper, was working for a non-profit training biomedical equipment technicians (BMETs) in Honduras. As anyone familiar with medical devices in developing countries can attest, he realized first-hand that much of the equipment that arrived in Honduras via donation or sale wasn't suitable for the environment. It could be that it was not robust enough, couldn't withstand unreliable power grids, or very frequently, that there was no reliable, local supply chain for accessories, consumables, and spare parts to support the device.

Moving in the opposite direction, there are many innovative and differentiated technologies developed abroad that can benefit patients in the U.S., but barriers to entry in the U.S. market are high.

After concluding a successful BMET training initiative in Honduras in 2014, Justin moved back to his home in the Seattle area where he pivoted to the tech sector, working in corporate B2B sales, with clients including some of the most recognizable names in tech. He gained valuable experience in making complex sales to sophisticated customers, earning trust through laser focus on customer challenges and collaborating with them on solutions.

Starting in 2023, Justin has been able to begin to fully focus on SaluNexus, and is excited to be getting to work realizing this vision.
